Strengthening Accountability and Transparency in Nigeria’s Education Sector (STATNES) is a three year project (2018-2020) supported by MacArthur Foundation on UBE/SUBEB projects in three LGAs (Soba, Chikun and Kaura) in Kaduna State.
The project strengthened access to information on governance and administration of UBE funds and projects in Kaduna state, it also strengthened involvement of community groups and associations in the monitoring of UBE/SUBEB funds to ensure quality service delivery and achievements in the state as well as contribute to the reduction of the risk of leakages and corruption in the administration and use of UBEC funds in Kaduna State. In tracking the projects, there is involvement of the State Universal Basics Education Board (SUBEB), Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), School Based Management Committees (SBMCs), Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and traditional institutions in host communities.
LANW also in partnership with the media is running a radio programme titled: Examining UBE/SUBEB projects in Kaduna State. The radio programme is to help create awareness and amplify the voices of the community in demanding for quality service delivery and accountability from both the government and the contractors.
