Strengthening Enabling Environment For Gender Equality

With support from DFID – Voices 4 Change (V4C) this project sought to strengthen the enabling environment for gender equality in Kaduna State and Nigeria by combining learning from development, learning from communications, behaviour change and social marketing approach. The project changed behaviour, attitudes and lives of over 1900 young persons in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State University and Kaduna Polytechnic. in the V4C project, LANW trained over 100 Traditional and religious Leaders to have been champions of gender equality in their sermons and interactions in communities. Some of the champions had reported and followed cases of harmful practices against women and girls leading to reduce incidence.
